Fam Fest '08

This week at our church we held our first annual Fam Fest '08. We had a nightly service running from Tuesday through Friday night that focused on family and what the Bible tells us about it. On Friday night we closed with a cookout and some good ol' fashioned family games. (My camera got left at home that night so I missed a lot of great pics but I stole this one from my friend Cari's blog...it was too cute not to pass up!)

Paisley Hope Update

Yesterday I had my routine dr. apt to check on Paisley. I had to take the gestational diabetes test too. Can I just say that the orange drink is so totally disgusting??? Anyways, she is doing great with a strong heartbeat and moving all around. I also had to get the ok from my doctor to fly on Monday. She gave me a copy of all my records to take with me and we will be on our way! The five us are headed to Ohio for a family reunion on Andrew's side of the family.
On my way home from the dr. I stopped by and picked out the diaper bag I like and to get monogrammed. I have also enjoyed finding a cute baby book, blankie, and bedding for her. In August I have a friend that is going to transform the girl's bedrooms! I can't wait! I am still shopping around for a coming home outfit. These are special things that I like to pick out when I am pregnant with each girl. I do have to say that this pregnancy is flying by-I will be 24 weeks on Monday! I so appreciate all of your continued prayers and support!

Out With the Old, In With the New

This past week after I get home from my walks, I have noticed blisters forming on the back of my heels. I knew that I needed new tennis shoes but just hadn't taken the time to go buy some. Well, by day 4 I could hardly slip my shoes on but I insisted on getting my walk in for the day. So I just started putting a band-aid over each blister. Then I noticed that when I got home I would take my shoes off and there would be blood that had seeped through the band-aid, onto my socks, and then into my shoes. It was totally gross! I finally had to say good bye to my old shoes and toss them into the garbage! (I decided not to take pictures of the back of my heels because it might really gross someone out...LOL!) My blisters with my tennis shoes reminded me of a verse from Ephesians 4:22-24 "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." How often do I tend to hold on to something that I know is not Christ like? For example: a bad attitude, selfishness, etc. It can be hard to "throw those things away" and let Christ renew me! Those things can reallly cause pain and hardship. I encourage all of us to take the time to dive into God's Word and put away our old self and become new in Christ. Only He has the power to change and heal us!
I did end up getting a new pair of tennis shoes and I know my heels will be truly grateful!

Behind in Blogging!

WOW! This week has flown by again-isn't summer break supposed to be at a slower pace? LOL! I didn't get any pics this week with my camera but we had a great time playing with our friends and cousin this week. On Monday Lori and her girls came to over to swim, Tuesday we went to Jody's and the gang for playtime and lunch, then that afternoon Maribel and Jenika came over to play at our house. We had a great time with each one of them:-) Then Wednesday we woke up to packing in the morning to head to my sister Sarah's house for a few days. We got back last night and now I am trying to get laundry finished, etc. (However I did squeeze a pedicure in this morning...so relaxing!).
On a sad note, yesterday afternoon while I was out a shopping with my sister I recieved a phone call from one of my friends letting me know that a tragedy happened in my old hometown. My stomach dropped when I found out that one of our friends, Mason had passed away in a plane accident yesterday. Please keep his wife Tracee and their 3 children along in your prayers. I know that he is in heaven but he will be dearly missed by his family and friends here on this earth.
What I continually need to remember is: life is short, don't sweat the small stuff, and what kind of legacy am I leaving?

Happy Daddy's Day!

Sunday mornings are usually very hectic around our house because we are all trying to get ready and out the door in time for church. So the girls and I decided we would wait and give Andrew his gifts after the services when we could sit down with him and enjoy it. We went to the first service so once we got home the girls wanted to make daddy a chocolate cake since that is his favorite. Then they finished up some paintings for him. When he walked in the door he we was greeted by his two girls and they were very excited to give him his gifts and show him the cake they made him. Emily and Ansley are very blessed to have a great daddy!
Happy Father's Day Andrew! We love you!

Happy Birthday Dad! (& Father's Day)

On Saturday afternoon we celebrated my dad's birthday (on the 24th) and Father's Day. Since everyone was in town visiting for the recital we thought it might be a good idea to do it all together. We also invited Andrew and Trey's parents so everyone could celebrate with their dad:-)
Here is my dad getting help from all 3 of his granddaughters! They love cake! ****Emily had my camera for the party and asked if she could take the pics for the day. She took the rest of these pics you will see-I thought she did a great job! I had to delete quite a few but a lot did come out. Ansley is planning on buying her a camera for her birthday next month. We know she will get much use out of it!

Emily and Ansley's Dance Recital

Last night was the girl's annual dance recital. It has been a crazy week with practice each day but the girls enjoy it so much! They were so excited to be able to put make up on but let me just tell you that is no simple task at this age!!! Mommy and Daddy were so proud of both of them including their Uncle Trey, Aunt Sarah, GG, Grandma, Papa, Aunt BB, Mema, Mam-maw, and Pa-pou! This year's theme was Broadway so all the songs were from the different shows.

After the finale mommy and daddy bought them big chocolate chip cookies for performing so well:-)

Both grandparents brought them snacks and flowers afterwards too

Here Emily, Ansley, and Kylie are with their ballet teacher Mrs. Margaret

Here they are with their gym teacher Aunt Sarah!
(We are also very proud of Sarah who landed all her back handsprings in her solo for the finale-that's not an easy job to do at any age!)

They are already so excited to start their new classes in September but I think Mommy is ready for a summer break...LOL!

Paisley Hope's Ultrasound!

This morning was my ultrasound apt with the doctor. All four of us had to get up really early and be there by 8 (we live an hour away!). Paisley Hope is doing great! She is so beautiful:-) Her heartbeat is at 147 and her growth measures 20 weeks and 5 days which is what I am today to be exact. Once they moved me up a week she seems to be right on track. We enjoyed watching her move all around. At first she kept her legs crossed and didn't want to move her bottom but after a little coaxing we got her to uncross those legs! We got to see that little girly part again! Please continue to pray for her! Thank you Jesus for a great report today!!!

I thought I would attach a cute pic of the girls just to show how excited they are about their little sister. The other day I was getting ready in my bathroom and they came in my bedroom and started playing...well when I walked in to check on them this is what I found...

Emily being the doctor to Ansley who is getting ready to have a baby (that she stuffed into her dress!). So precious!!!

Saying Goodbye is Never Easy!

Late this afternoon we met my friend Tracy and her family at our neighborhood pool. This was our last time together before she moves out of state. The moving truck was packed and already left and they were headed out tonight. I thought it would be fun for our kids to have a picnic dinner at the pool and have one last chance to swim together. I have been so blessed to meet Tracy this year. She has been such a an awesome friend-I am trully going to miss her but look forward to visits:-)

Happy Anniversary (8 years!)!!

Andrew and I left this past Sunday for our annual anniversary getaway! I always look forward to this time with each other. I can't believe it has been 8 years already. We went to a beach resort and enjoyed the ocean:-) We were able to get in a couple of movies while we were gone since we don't do that very often. I was also able to cash in my Mother's Day gift that Andrew got me at this spa. I recieved a facial, pedicure, manicure, and prenatal massage! Enjoyed every minute of it! Thank you Andrew! On the night of our anniversary we went to The Melting Pot-Yummy!!! It is such a great place to have a date and talk because you are in a booth that is so private. The food is always delicious (thank you Robyn for introducing us to this restaurant back in Dallas!!!). I forgot to take my camera to the restaurant but here is a few from the beach....

Now I just love this pic (really I am kidding!) Check out that belly--woohoo!
What a view!

I am so blessed to be married to a wonderful husband who loves Jesus and is my best friend!! He is a great husband and daddy! We both had a great time and look forward to next year! Thank you mom and dad for watching the girls while we were gone-they had a great time!
Thank you Elgin and Jane for sending us chocolate covered strawberries and other goodies while we were there-those are my favorite!!!
I love you Andrew!!!
